Scout and Nala are currently enrolled in private t Scout and Nala are currently enrolled in private training lessons at our Training Center for behavior modification. They are 3 year old rescue dogs and struggle with littermate syndrome, excessive barking, reactivity, and fear based behaviors. We have implemented daily enrichment, desensitization, and counter-conditioning to help reduce their stress and fear reactive behaviors. They are also building confidence with obedience training. Frankie, the 5 year old Mixed Breed rescue dog, is Frankie, the 5 year old Mixed Breed rescue dog, is currently enrolled in behavior modification training with Vikki. He is struggling with separation anxiety and extremely progressed resource guarding. We are implementing daily walks to increase excercise and counter-conditioning of the triggers that predict his pet parent leaving. Due to the progressed state of his resource guarding we decided against using puzzle toys or recreational chews. We are implementing a management protocol for resource guarding and doing daily training involving counter-conditioning when someone approaches him near a trigger. Being that his resource guarding is progressed he guards his food bowl, the location where food and treats are kept, areas where he has enjoyed bones, and his owner.
