Professional Dog Training

We offer In-Home Private Training for those in Lafayette. We offer basic and advanced obedience training in the comfort of your own home. Advanced private training lessons can take place in your home or a location. All ages and breed are welcome for training. We will travel within 30 miles of Lafayette.

Training

Our hybrid training program is designed to specifically cater to puppies 5 months of age and younger. We take trips to local parks, pet stores, and sometimes even restaurants to ensure adequate socialization and reliability of cues.

Modification

Behavior modification for aggression, fear, phobias, and anxiety is offered in private lessons to Lafayette and surrounding residents. All ages and breeds are accepted for behavior modification to adjust problem behaviors.

Group classes, specialty workshops, puppy socials, learning seminars, and private lessons are held at our facility located in Lafayette. All ages and breeds are welcome for in-facility training with proof of current vaccinations.

Franny and Frosty recently attended our Rocket Re Franny and Frosty recently attended our Rocket Recall workshop. We discussed the rules for teaching and maintaining a reliable recall. We also practiced touch, introducing a come cue, collar grabs, paper plate recall, and introducing an emergency recall. Milo, Andorra, and Franklin recently attended our Milo, Andorra, and Franklin recently attended our K9 Enrichment Workshop. They had so much fun trying different forms on enrichment and mental stimulation. Clemmie, the 1 year old Great Pyrenees German Shep Clemmie, the 1 year old Great Pyrenees German Shepherd Mix, is currently enrolled in private training lessons for behavior modification. Clemmie struggles with dog to human resource guarding. Prior to training she was showing high levels of stress and her aggressive behavior was increasing. She would heavily resource guard the family's couch from them and began resource guarding several spaces in the house. We implemented heavy management, muzzle conditioning, calming chews, Adaptil, systematic desensitization, counter-conditioning, and obedience training. She has made tremendous progress and is no longer resource guarding spaces in the house or the couch. We are currently working on trading her for objects and beginning to work on low stress handling techniques for veterinary visits. We start every behavior case by ruling out pain or potential medical causes for behavior with the clients veterinarian at the beginning of training. Recently, Clemmie snapped while being pet, which was a sudden change in behavior. Though Clemmie is aggressive, her aggression has not involved biting. We referred her to the veterinarian to rule out pain and discovered she had an ear infection. Benny and Milo recently completed their private tr Benny and Milo recently completed their private training lessons at our Training Center. Benny greatly reduced his fear based aggression towards guests and Milo learned his obedience cues. Learning hot to stay together was a challenge for them, but they managed to conquer it!
