Training Lessons

Private Training lessons can take place in your home, our training center, or a public location. All ages and breeds are welcome for private training. We offer basic and advanced training, as well as behavior modification services. We will travel within 30 miles of Lafayette to meet your needs for private training.

They had so much fun trying different forms on enrichment and mental stimulation. Clemmie, the 1 year old Great Pyrenees German Shep Clemmie, the 1 year old Great Pyrenees German Shepherd Mix, is currently enrolled in private training lessons for behavior modification. Clemmie struggles with dog to human resource guarding. Prior to training she was showing high levels of stress and her aggressive behavior was increasing. She would heavily resource guard the family's couch from them and began resource guarding several spaces in the house. We implemented heavy management, muzzle conditioning, calming chews, Adaptil, systematic desensitization, counter-conditioning, and obedience training. She has made tremendous progress and is no longer resource guarding spaces in the house or the couch. We are currently working on trading her for objects and beginning to work on low stress handling techniques for veterinary visits. We start every behavior case by ruling out pain or potential medical causes for behavior with the clients veterinarian at the beginning of training. Recently, Clemmie snapped while being pet, which was a sudden change in behavior. Though Clemmie is aggressive, her aggression has not involved biting. We referred her to the veterinarian to rule out pain and discovered she had an ear infection. Benny greatly reduced his fear based aggression towards guests and Milo learned his obedience cues. Learning hot to stay together was a challenge for them, but they managed to conquer it! Class meets the same day and time each week for 4 weeks. Your puppy will learn eye contact, sit, down, come, stay, leave it, loose leash walking, go to bed. We will also discuss how to address jumping, chewing, barking, and digging. 💲The cost is $175/dog. SPACE IS LIMITED!!!
