We recently had a behavior consultation for Franki We recently had a behavior consultation for Frankie the 2 year old rescue dog. His owners are not local to the area, but we were able to assess him and put together a training strategy to decrease his stress and aggression. We were also able to provide an appropriate referral to a Certified Behavior Consultant to continue his training. We also made referral to his veterinarian to rule out pain and discuss the potential use of behavior medication. We learned that Frankie struggles with fear aggression. He is unable to be around guests or walk down the street without being over threshold. He will growl snd bark constantly. We discussed management, muzzle conditioning, and body language. We developed an enrichment protocol to decrease his daily stress. We also instructed his owner on how to safely begin to desensitize and counter-condition him to triggers.
