Major, the 4 year old Pitbull/ Rottweiler Mix, is Major, the 4 year old Pitbull/ Rottweiler Mix, is currently enrolled in private training lessons for behavior modification. Prior to training he was struggling with human aggression to guests. We implemented strict management, behavioral medication from his veterinarian, muzzle conditioning training, systematic desensitization, and counter-conditioning to change his emotional response to people. He has greatly reduced his aggression and is even easier to handle at vet appointments. He has been in training since January and has 1 more lesson to complete. It can take several months to safely replace behavior patterns and to create long lasting change. He did so well working on sitting for petting and not jumping when engaging with people. He also walked beautifully on his leash and practiced stay out of sight.
