Professional Dog Training

We offer In-Home Private Training for those in Lafayette. We offer basic and advanced obedience training in the comfort of your own home. Advanced private training lessons can take place in your home or a location. All ages and breed are welcome for training. We will travel within 30 miles of Lafayette.

Training

Our hybrid training program is designed to specifically cater to puppies 5 months of age and younger. We take trips to local parks, pet stores, and sometimes even restaurants to ensure adequate socialization and reliability of cues.

Behavior modification for aggression, fear, phobias, and anxiety is offered in private lessons to Lafayette and surrounding residents. All ages and breeds are accepted for behavior modification to adjust problem behaviors.

Waffle, the 7 month Miniature Goldendoodle puppy, Waffle, the 7 month Miniature Goldendoodle puppy, recently completed his in-home private training lessons. We worked on stopping his attention seeking jumping, biting, and taught him how to come when called. We learned that he was engaging in low level resource guarding and taughthim the value of trades. We are currently working on come when called and teaching her an invisible boundary around their property. She is very energetic and is enjoying the daily mental stimulation. This 1 hour workshop will introduce your dog to agility obstacles such as - the A-frame, weaves, tunnel, jumps, dog walk and more! The cost is $45/dog. ✅Classes take place at our training center located at 131 James Comeaux Rd, Lafayette La 70508. ✅Proof of current vaccinations given by a veterinarian, a negative fecal, and flea prevention are needed to attend class. Puppies need 2 rounds of vaccines given by a veterinarian. ✅All classes are taught with positive reinforcement based methods, we do not use any choke, prong, or shock collars.
Saint the Dachshund puppy and Jolie the Golden Ret Saint the Dachshund puppy and Jolie the Golden Retriever puppy had so much fun at our recent Puppy Play Time! They become fast friends and did an excellent job developing their play skills. They also built confidence engaging in obstacles. We recently had a behavior consultation for Franki We recently had a behavior consultation for Frankie the 2 year old rescue dog. His owners are not local to the area, but we were able to assess him and put together a training strategy to decrease his stress and aggression. We were also able to provide an appropriate referral to a Certified Behavior Consultant to continue his training. We also made referral to his veterinarian to rule out pain and discuss the potential use of behavior medication. We learned that Frankie struggles with fear aggression. He is unable to be around guests or walk down the street without being over threshold. He will growl snd bark constantly. We discussed management, muzzle conditioning, and body language. We developed an enrichment protocol to decrease his daily stress. We also instructed his owner on how to safely begin to desensitize and counter-condition him to triggers.
