Nala, the 8 month old Standard Poodle puppy, is here to stay with Vikki for our board and train program. She recently completed our Adult Class and is here to further her education. She is going to work on building confidence and fine-tuning her obedience. He was a little nervous when first dropped off, but has quickly settled in. ✅ Classes meet on the same day and time each week. Classes take place at our training center located at 131 James Comeaux Rd, Lafayette, LA 70508.
✅ Proof of current vaccinations given by a veterinarian, a negative fecal, and flea prevention are needed to attend class. Puppies need 2 rounds of vaccines given by a veterinarian.
✅ All classes are taught with positive reinforcement based methods, we do not use any choke, prong, or shock collars.

Fritz, the Doberman puppy, completed our board and train program at the beginning of the year. A few months after training he broke his toe and required lots of crate rest. He became pretty pent up and began showing signs of resource guarding from his owners. It wasn't surprising that he was resource guarding due to his history of being found emaciated. Resource guarding is a fear based behavior. We implemented management, desensitization, counter-conditioning, enrichment, and polished his obedience training. During our training lessons, he broke another toe while running in the yard and had to endure crate rest again! He is no longer showing signs of guarding and his owners are continuing his training to manage the behavior.
