📢Join us for our ADULT CLASS starting NEXT Wedn 📢Join us for our ADULT CLASS starting NEXT Wednesday night @ 7:30 pm! 📲Enroll here: https://lafayettedogtrainer.com/enrollment-form/ 🐶 This is a 4 week course for dogs and puppies 6 months and older. Class meets the same day and time each week for 4 weeks. Your puppy will learn eye contact, sit, down, come, stay, leave it, loose leash walking, go to bed. We will also discuss how to address jumping, chewing, barking, and digging. 📌 The cost is $175/dog. SPACE IS LIMITED!!!
Frankie, the 5 year old Mixed Breed rescue dog, is Frankie, the 5 year old Mixed Breed rescue dog, is currently enrolled in behavior modification training with Vikki. He is struggling with separation anxiety and extremely progressed resource guarding. We are implementing daily walks to increase excercise and counter-conditioning of the triggers that predict his pet parent leaving. Due to the progressed state of his resource guarding we decided against using puzzle toys or recreational chews. We are implementing a management protocol for resource guarding and doing daily training involving counter-conditioning when someone approaches him near a trigger. Being that his resource guarding is progressed he guards his food bowl, the location where food and treats are kept, areas where he has enjoyed bones, and his owner. We recently saw Lucy, the 9 month old Goldendoodle We recently saw Lucy, the 9 month old Goldendoodle, for a behavior consultation. She completed puppy class with us in the fall and has been having a rough time since she reached adolescence. She began displaying reactivity on walks, jumping for attention, and not coming when called. Dogs go through various stages of development and adolescence can be tricky, as they are often experience a lapse of memory, judgemental, and boundary pushing. We devised a training plan to reduce her anxiety and strengthen her obedience cues. We plan on doing training in public later this summer. Rosie, the 1 year old Bully Breed Mix, is currentl Rosie, the 1 year old Bully Breed Mix, is currently enrolled in private training lessons for behavior modification with Vikki. She's a a rescue dog that was found tied up in New Orleans. She is showing signs of fear and nervousness of strangers. She is also engaging in destructive chewing. We have implemented a training plan that entails systematic desensitization and counter-conditioning to change her emotional response to people. We are also implementing obedience training and enrichment activities to help decrease her destructive behaviors.
