She learned how to sit, lie down, stay, walk on a loose leash, leave it, touch, and settle on a bed. She's made tremendous progress with training and focus. Sam, the 5 year old Shih Tzu, recently completed h Sam, the 5 year old Shih Tzu, recently completed his in-home private training lessons for behavior modification. He was recently adopted and began resource guarding his new owner. We treated the behavior operantly. He learned how to get off his owner's lap and sit when guests approach. He also struggles with aggression when getting groomed. Prior to training he was unable to be groomed and sent home from the groomer. We implemented systematic desensitization, counter-conditioning, mat training, handling excercises, and medication from the vet. Though he js not perfect, he has made tremendous improvement with being groomed. He's showing off his fresh groom in this picture. Piper, the Dachshund puppy, did si well on her fie Piper, the Dachshund puppy, did si well on her field trip to DICK's Sporting Goods. She excels at her distance stays and coming when called. She was a little nervous with people, as she is so small and everyone hovers over her. We were able to have several people toss her treats to help her form positive associations to strangers.
